Just two college kids celebrating another couples engagement on a yacht in the middle of the ocean and all it took was one glance at the prettiest girl in the room to stop Eric dead in his tracks. Patiently waiting for the moment the other gawking spectators scurried to the bar he found his opening and politely asked Nicole “is this a good time to add my name to the waitlist?” Nicole laughed with a perfect smile and they connected over some great conversation before she uttered those devastating words “I have a boyfriend.” Heartbroken but Eric played it cool and knew if he was patient enough the right opportunity would eventually present itself. Fast forward 6 months later, lo and behold Eric and Nicole were on their first weekend together in San Diego. They quickly fell in love, searched for the world’s best burgers, traveled where they could on a tight budget and laughed like crazy for three and a half years together before going their separate ways. 


Over the years Eric and Nicole couldn’t help but check in on each other. Each time they met the chemistry quickly resurfaced and the details of their lives unfolded. After years of playing cat and mouse they met for one of their “friendly” check-ins and Nicole was once again in a relationship. Sitting side by side on the Malibu sand Eric couldn’t help but tell her “the universe just doesn’t want us to be together.” From that moment, the pauses of seeing each other grew greater. 12 years had elapsed since the day they broke up but somehow the opportunity Eric waited for so patiently just like when they first met seemed to present itself once more. Out of the blue Nicole was back on the market and still beautiful as ever. This time was different. They both have now experienced life’s ups and downs, been in and out of relationships and evolved into two people that have grown to know who they are and what they want. This was the second chance most people don’t get in a single lifetime and definitely one Eric wouldn’t let slip away. Finally seeing each other again after all these years Eric knew timing is everything and their time is now.
